1) Start > Devices and Printers
2) Right click on desired printer and choose "set as default printer"
XP
1) Start > Printers & Faxes
2) Locate the name of the printer you'd like to select
3) Right click on this printer and choose "Set Default Printer"
A little black checkbox shows up on the icon of the printer that is set as your default printer.
